Congrats to our 2019 Oltjen Orthodontics Smile Scholarship winner, Claire Dopp! Claire graduated from St. James Academy with a 4.0 GPA. She’s going to attend the University of Kansas in the fall where she’ll study Chemical Engineering. She was thrilled to be our winner this year and came to pick up her check with her Mom and sister who were grateful and excited for her. Here’s the essay Claire wrote:

Area seniors have the chance to receive a $1,000!

 

Oltjen Orthodontics will award the winner a scholarship of $1000 to the college or institution of their choice. This is not exclusive to our former patients but is open to any Kansas City Metro Area graduating senior who is willing to complete the application.

The heart of the application is an essay written by the applicant entitled “How Could a Smile Change The World?”

We are looking for thoughtful, intentional, creative answers as we expect to have many applications! We look forward to hearing more about you!


ESSAY INSTRUCTIONS:  In 500 words or less, tell us how you believe a smile could change the world. Consider sharing your own personal experiences and why you think smiles are powerful. We are looking for thorough, thoughtful, creative responses!

If we love what you have to say, then you may receive a scholarship!  We can’t wait to read your entry!
